[ VISITS ]

There are a number of excellent reasons to consider taking a trip to Europe.

  1. You want to get to know the Institute better.
  2. You, your youth group or missions committee would like to be involved in a short term missions project.
  3. You need to do a missions internship to graduate from college.
  4. You want to learn more about missions either for personal reasons or to be better equipped to serve in your local church.
  5. You’d like to discover the roots of significant events in church history.
  6. It would make a fun educational vacation.
  7. You want to visit missionary friends to encourage them in their work.
  8. It’s often as inexpensive as many vacations in the States.

Here are some excellent opportunities of which you can take advantage.

[ M.A.P.: MISSIONARY APPRENTICE PROGRAM ]

This is a program organized by Baptist Mid-Missions to assist people, often college-age, who would like to take a missions trip.  (Other boards have similar programs.)  It is a very personalized program that allows you to set your own dates, duration, etc.  The mission would help you with all the necessary details of the trip.  To find out more about this type of program, click on one of the mission links.

[ F.O.F. : FOCUS ON FRANCE ]

This program was designed by the missionaries in France serving with Baptist Mid-Missions.  It is for college-age young people enrolled in a college that requires a mission internship experience to complete graduation requirements.

The program runs for six weeks long normally in June and July.  During the F.O.F. trip you will have the possibility of visiting several works in different cities, giving you a broad view of the needs, challenges and blessings of working in France today.  You will be a part of a team of young people from other Christian colleges, with whom you will travel, learn and serve.  It’s a great way to form lasting friendships while learning about the spiritual situation in France.

To find out more about the next F.O.F. trip click on the Baptist Mid-Missions link.

[ PERSONAL TRIP ]

IBPB would love to have you visit during a personal trip to Europe. Stay for a day or longer.  If it’s rolling up your sleeves and helping in a short-term missionary project that excites you, we often have jobs to do that would be a great service to us.  If you are interested in world or church history, there’s much to see in our area.  Or, you may want to see first-hand what it’s like doing evangelism and building new local churches in France.  Here’s a short list of places to see near the Institute:

  • WWI, WWII sites: Verdun, Maginot Line, the Marne, Battle of the Bulge, Metz, Patton’s grave, etc.
  • Church history sites: Trèves (Germany), Strasbourg, Anabaptist and Reformation sites, etc.
  • Mission works in the area: Belgium, France and Luxembourg
